Herzog's Restaurant & Bar sits inside a famous building in the center of Munich. It is not only a "heritage listed, post-war modernist building...which was designed and constructed in 1957 by venerated German architects, Sep Ruf and Theo Papst," but the foundation's history goes all the way back to the late 16th century, when it was the site of a "castle which belonged to Bavarian duke, Wilhelm V."
The Zurich-based architecture firm, Build_Inc. redesigned the space with brass, dark colors, concrete and lots of drama. It is beautiful. The project earned the firm a nomination for the German Design Award 2017.
