In the Fall, Cabernet Sauvingnon growers all over Alexander Valley in Sonoma - and east through Napa and southwest through the Santa Cruz mountains - harvest and crush their grapes. And in early October 2018, Byington Vineyard & Winery did just that. Both the Tin Cross and Bates Ranch Cabs are award-winners for Byington.
Byington is both a vineyard and winery which focuses on producing high quality, small batch wines with 8 acres of Pinot Noir in the Santa Cruz Mountains and 36 acres of "ultra premium Tin Cross Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from Alexander Valley" (in Sonoma). They purchase more varietals from a curated set of partner vineyards to round out their healthy portfolio of wines.
In the Santa Cruz Mountains, "Byington Vineyard & Winery sits on 95 mountainous acres surrounded by redwood forests with a view to the Monterey Bay. Byington produces award-winning Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay wines...The winery is focused on growing and producing premium wines, farmed sustainably using biodynamic growing methods. The wines are handcrafted with focus on natural fermentation methods from handpicked grapes."
