Ashford Castle in County Mayo, (western) Ireland in the city of Cong has a long and storied history. It is 800 years old, sits on the largest lake in the Republic of Ireland, Lough Corrib, and was reopened to guests in April 2015 after two years of renovation and restoration at a cost of $75 million.
